Generator Service Technician

Our services include engineering and technical services, ship repair, generator sales and services, and welding and fabrication services.
Generator Service Technician will be responsible to perform maintenance, service, trouble-shooting and repair activities for industrial and residential standby power generating systems. Services will be performed throughout Rhode Island and Southern Massachusetts from a mobile unit equipped with the necessary equipment and supplies. Generator Service Technician will be required to respond to service calls during off-hours and inclement weather. Work will be coordinated from our shop facility in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. Generator Service Technician will interface with Company customers and perform all necessary record keeping to ensure proper management and efficient performance of all activities.
Experience & Knowledge (Required):
To perform this job well, the employee needs to possess a mechanics set of hand tools and basic electrical tools, and have knowledge and be able to troubleshoot operating issues on the following:
- • Diesel Engine Service and Repair
- • Gas Engine Service and Repair
- • Residential Standby Power Generating Systems
- • Industrial Standby Power Generating Systems
- • Electrical Generator Systems;
and be familiar with and able to use/perform:
- • Service and Inventory Management Program
- • Component and Spare Part Identification and Sourcing
- • Safety Requirements & Codes
- • OSHA Regulations

Experience & Knowledge (Desirable):
- • Automatic Transfer Switch Systems
- • Standby Power System Controls
- • Ability to access secured locations (TWIC, RapidGate, CAC, etc.)
The successful applicant must:
- Be able to lift and carry heavy objects up to 60 LBS.
- Be able to work on his/her feet for extended periods of time.
- Be able to work outdoors in inclement weather situations.
- Be able to bend, twist, squat, climb ladders, and carry heavy equipment up and down stairs.
The successful applicant will be required to pass a pre-employment physical to confirm an ability to meet the requirements of this job. The pre-employment physical shall include a drug test.
Applicant should have a high school diploma and certified training directly applicable to the above required experience and knowledge. The preferred candidate will have a college degree, or accreditation from a technical college, vocational school, or military training. CDL Class B license a plus.
The applicant should have three (3) years of experience directly applicable to the service, repair and troubleshooting of standby power generating systems, including both mechanical and electrical components. The applicant should be a United States citizen with a valid driver’s license.
